There is this note on the <font> reference page:

An LzFont object represents a named font in a given style. The  
LzFontManager service stores these object. The constructor of this  
class is for internal use only.

and in the Fonts chapter of the dguide we have a couple of notes like  
this:

OpenLaszlo provides some basic APIs for measuring text. You can use  
the LzFontManager  to look up information about a given font name and  
style...

Is LzFontManager a public API? It's mentioned just three times in the  
doc, and there is no reference page for it.
