There is a longstanding JIRA task to pull together this kind of info  
in an "advanced scripting" chapter.  I will add this disscussion to  
the comments.

Not clear if I'll get to it for 4.1, since I'm working on Webtop  
docs, but I agree that this kind of info should be in the dguide.
