Exactly what is "customized" about the OL-bundled ant 1.5?  It'd be nice
to get OL builds working with a current ant -- and to remove dependencies
on customization, so an out-of-the-box ant will work.

I know there are <if> and <trycatch> tasks in build.xml and I think those
come from extensions.  There are built-in ways to do conditional property 
checks and that kind of thing... so I wonder how hard it would be to get
us to working with a vanilla ant.
