How bout if there is an attribute on the canvas called "proxyhost" (or 
proxyurl?) and that this would default to null for an app compiled for 
what we've been calling "serverless" and would default to the app server 
(or url) when the app is served from the LZServlet.

This is more work to implement but seems more useful.

It also allows for you to serve up the app and change the proxyhost at 
runtime.

Other possibilities here include allowing you to set/change the 
proxyhost/proxyurl per request.
